The Manager, Global SAP Systems leads the strategy, delivery, and ongoing operations of our global SAP ecosystem. This role is responsible for ensuring SAP platforms effectively support business operations, drive scalability, and align with the company’s long-term digital transformation initiatives.
The Manager, Global SAP Systems, will lead a distributed, cross-functional team and partner closely with business and IT leadership to deliver high-performing, reliable, and future-ready SAP solutions.
BDI’s SAP landscape includes a single ECC 6.0 EHP 8 private cloud instance, BW/BOBJ, Solution Manager, SAP Integration Suite (BTP), and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud supporting global financial consolidation.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with IT leadership in defining and executing global SAP roadmaps aligned with business and IT objectives.
- Provide leadership across functional, technical, QA, and Basis teams.
- Partner with executive stakeholders to prioritize and deliver key initiatives.
- Optimize the use of SAP across BDI organizations.
- Oversee and prioritize support, enhancements, and project delivery across our SAP platforms.
- Manage the relationship with BDI’s private cloud provider, ensuring high system availability, performance, and reliability.
- Govern incident, change, and release management processes.
- Lead and develop a global SAP team of 18 Business Analysts, ABAP developers, Basis, and QA resources within US and India.
- Establish clear performance expectations and career development plans.
- Ensure scalable, secure, and efficient integration architecture using SAP Integration Suite (BTP).
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to align with broader IT strategy.
- Lead SAP programs and projects from planning through execution.
- Ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage external vendors, system integrators, and consulting partners.
- Establish and enforce SAP governance frameworks and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of hands-on SAP experience, including recent ECC experience.
- Functional expertise in one or more areas: SD, MM/PP, WM/LE, or FICO.
- 2 years’ proven leadership experience managing SAP teams and initiatives.
- Strong understanding of SAP integrations and enterprise system landscapes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing projects and prioritize.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading global or distributed teams.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP CPI, and SAP BTP
- Familiarity with tools such as Vistex, Vertex, Hyland Onbase or document automation platforms
- Industry experience in distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain-driven environments.
- Experience with implementing and migrating to SAP from other ERP systems.
