The Custodian at D&J Precision Machine plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment for both office and production staff. This position is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the facility, ensuring work areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces meet company standards of cleanliness and safety.
The Custodian is expected to work independently, follow established cleaning schedules, and be proactive in identifying areas that need attention. In addition to routine cleaning, this role may assist with light maintenance tasks, event setup and breakdown, and support compliance with workplace safety and sanitation requirements.
This role is based at our Cambridge, Ohio location and is a fully onsite position.

Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of offices, break rooms, restrooms, production floors, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces as required
- Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of building entrances, hallways, and walkways
- Replenish supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and other designated areas
- Assist with light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, cleaning equipment surfaces, and reporting repair needs
- Outside building maintenance such as weed trimming, spraying for weeds
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Support compliance with safety, health, and sanitation standards in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed
- Assist with setting up and cleaning after meetings, events, or company gatherings
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred (manufacturing or industrial setting a plus)
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and buffers
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, use of cleaning chemicals, and safety practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
