Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Carpenter Helper to join our construction team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the carpentry field. As a Carpenter Helper, you will assist skilled carpenters in various tasks, contributing to the successful completion of construction projects while learning valuable skills along the way.
Duties
- Assist carpenters in the construction and installation of structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Help in reading and interpreting blueprints to understand project specifications.
- Support in framing carpentry tasks, including building walls, roofs, and other structural components.
- Aid in plastering work as needed to ensure smooth finishes on walls and ceilings.
- Operate power tools safely and effectively under the supervision of experienced carpenters.
- Participate in water damage restoration projects by assisting with repairs and replacements.
- Ensure all materials are properly handled and stored on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with various power tools used in carpentry.
- Knowledge of frame carpentry techniques is a plus.
- Experience or willingness to learn about siding installation.
- Ability to assist in construction estimating processes as needed.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks effectively.
