What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Trainer/Performance Coach position at BCS Fitness?
Performance Coach — Small Group Personal Training
Bryan & College Station, TX | Full-Time & Part-Time Available
About the Role
BCS Fitness is hiring Performance Coaches to lead 1:5 small group personal training for clients ages 40 . This isn't group fitness — it's structured personal training in a small group environment, with prescriptive programming, individualized coaching, and long-term client relationships. Most of our clients stay with us 32 months, which tells you what kind of work we do.
You'll coach 30-minute sessions across a variety of movement patterns, keep thorough client notes, build real relationships with the people you train, and be part of a team that takes its craft seriously.
What You'll Do
- Lead small group personal training sessions (max 5 clients per coach)
- Follow prescriptive programming while individualizing cues to each client
- Maintain client notes in our database (injuries, goals, progress)
- Build lasting relationships with the clients you train
- Contribute to studio operations (opening/closing, cleanliness, small operational tasks)
- Grow through our structured Coaching Career Path
Compensation & Growth
- Certification bonus for coaches holding an active national cert (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM)
- Structured Coaching Career Path with defined levels, gate metrics, and pay increases at every stage — no time-in-role floors, advancement is metric-driven
- Clothing allowance for Floor Lead and Senior Floor Lead roles
- 1-on-1 personal training opportunities available
- Continuing education support
Who We're Looking For
- Positive, hard-working, energetic, coachable, curious
- Intermediate understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics
- Minimum 30 hours of college-level coursework
- Interested in a long-term career in health, fitness, or coaching — not looking for a side gig you'll quit in six months
- Comfortable leading small groups while still connecting individually with each client
Certification from a credible national organization (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, or equivalent) preferred but not required — we'll help you prepare for certification if you're not certified yet.
