What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite Care Provider position at Bcrady?
- Provide person-centered support based on the individual’s needs, preferences, interests, and goals.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Support mobility and transfers, including the use of assistive devices when needed.
- Encourage independence and assist with developing daily living, communication, problem-solving, and emotional regulation skills.
- Provide companionship and engage the individual in meaningful activities, hobbies, and social opportunities.
- Serve meals according to the individual’s needs and preferences.
- Complete light housekeeping tasks related to the individual’s care, including laundry, dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Provide medication reminders and follow established care plans.
- Provide reassurance and appropriate support during periods of stress or behavioral challenges.
- Monitor and report significant changes in the individual’s health, behavior, or support needs.
- Maintain required documentation regarding services and supports provided.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the individual’s family and other members of the support team.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate, patient, kind, respectful, and dependable.
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care, including toileting and incontinence care.
- Able to work independently while communicating effectively with the individual’s family and support team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in caregiving, developmental services, or human services is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience completing service documentation is preferred.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to the individual’s home as required.
- Committed to providing consistent, respectful, and high-quality care.
- Must successfully complete the required background screening through ARIS Solutions.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 15.0 per week
