It starts with our people, which is why we need a Manager, Learning & Development to join our team and lead the development of BCLP's management and leadership capability across Global Business Services and Paralegal populations.
As a newly created role, this position will be responsible for building a comprehensive management curriculum from the ground up, establishing development pathways that enable leaders to effectively manage performance, develop talent, and create high-performing teams. The role will also shape broader professional development offerings that support career growth, operational excellence, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the firm's learning and development strategy for Global Business Services professionals and Paralegals, aligning initiatives with firm and business priorities.
- Design and build BCLP's management and leadership development curriculum from the ground up, creating structured learning pathways for new, experienced, and senior managers.
- Partner with Global Business Services leaders to identify management capability gaps and develop learning solutions that strengthen leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and team performance.
- Design and deliver engaging learning experiences focused on core management skills, including coaching, feedback, performance management, communication, delegation, and talent development.
- Develop broader learning pathways for Business Services and Paralegal populations, covering professional effectiveness, collaboration, client service, commercial awareness, and career development.
- Conduct needs analyses and use business and talent data to inform program priorities, curriculum design, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Build strong partnerships with business leaders and subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions address evolving business needs and support organizational goals.
- Source and manage external learning providers, facilitators, and content partners, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for investment.
- Measure learning effectiveness and use participant feedback, stakeholder input, and business outcomes to evaluate impact and refine programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the People Team to align learning initiatives with broader talent, performance, and career development strategies.

Experience & Knowledge
- 5–8 years of experience in learning and development, leadership development, talent development, or a related field, preferably within a professional services environment.
- Proven experience designing and implementing management and leadership development programs.
- Experience building learning curricula, development pathways, or capability frameworks from concept through implementation.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders to identify capability gaps and develop practical learning solutions.
- Experience managing teams and developing employees, allowing for practical insight into the challenges of leadership, performance management, coaching, and employee engagement.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning measurement methodologies.
- Experience managing external learning providers and development partners.
- Coaching certification, psychometric accreditation, or leadership coaching experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms is desirable.
