A leading Am Law firm is seeking a talented Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its highly regarded real estate practice in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess experience handling commercial real estate transactions, development projects, financing matters, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing transactions, and related real estate investments.
The successful candidate will work with developers, investors, lenders, owners, and institutional clients on a wide range of sophisticated real estate matters. Associates will gain meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and hands-on experience with complex transactions involving high-value assets and significant development projects.
This position rarely becomes available at the mid-level associate level and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities
• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for commercial real estate transactions
• Prepare and review real estate development agreements and project documentation
• Conduct title and survey review and provide related legal analysis
• Represent lenders and borrowers in real estate finance transactions
• Assist with acquisition, disposition, and financing matters involving commercial properties
• Draft and negotiate leasing agreements for commercial projects
• Structure and document real estate joint ventures and investment arrangements
• Support planned community, condominium, and mixed-use development projects
• Coordinate due diligence efforts involving acquisitions and development transactions
• Analyze zoning, land use, and development-related legal issues
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex real estate projects
• Manage transaction timelines and client expectations while meeting competing deadlines

Qualifications
• 3–4 years of commercial real estate transactional and development experience
• Experience drafting purchase and sale agreements and related transactional documents
• Background reviewing title commitments, title policies, and survey materials
• Experience representing lenders or borrowers in finance transactions preferred
• Knowledge of leasing, joint venture, and development matters
• Experience with economic incentives is a plus
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Commitment to exceptional client service
• Admission to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction
