A law firm is seeking an Oil and Gas Title Associate Attorney with at least 1 year of experience drafting title opinions for Texas lands to support an active energy practice. The position focuses on title examinations, ownership analysis, transactional due diligence, and legal guidance involving oil and gas assets in South Texas and the Permian Basin.
The successful candidate will analyze ownership records, prepare title opinions, advise clients on title-related risks, and support complex energy transactions. The role also includes drafting agreements, collaborating with litigation attorneys when necessary, and maintaining current knowledge of oil and gas laws and regulations.
A hybrid work arrangement is available for candidates who reside near one of the firm's offices.

Duties
• Conduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas properties.
• Analyze deeds, leases, contracts, and related documents affecting ownership rights.
• Draft title opinions identifying title defects, liens, and ownership issues.
• Perform due diligence reviews for oil and gas transactions.
• Advise clients on legal risks and strategies to resolve title issues.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and transactional documents.
• Collaborate with litigation attorneys when title disputes arise.
• Work with team members on complex energy transactions.
• Meet the quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and legal education.

Requirements
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active law license.
• At least 1 year of experience drafting title opinions for Texas lands.
• Experience preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships.
• Strong commitment to ethical legal practice and client confidentiality.
