About the Role

A law firm seeks an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to handle civil litigation matters involving automotive and trucking negligence, medical malpractice, toxic torts, and general liability. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with 2 years of civil litigation experience who are ready to manage cases from inception through resolution in a hybrid/remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through final resolution.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Review and summarize medical records and identify significant issues.
• Prepare client reports outlining case developments and litigation strategy.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Take and defend depositions, participate in mediations and arbitrations, and argue motions.
• Attend virtual and in-person court appearances.
• Represent clients in complex insurance defense and high-exposure litigation.
• Explain litigation strategy and case developments to clients.
• Manage multiple files while meeting deadlines and billing requirements.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in civil litigation, including automobile negligence or premises liability.
• Experience handling depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Sound judgment and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload independently.
• Experience with timekeeping and billing practices.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
