Job Overview

A well-established family law practice is seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to represent clients in a broad range of domestic relations matters. The successful candidate will manage divorce-related cases while advising clients on child custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and related family law issues.

Duties

• Conduct initial consultations with clients regarding divorce and family law matters.

• Manage family law cases from inception through final resolution.

• Draft pleadings, motions, certifications, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.

• Prepare and file case information statements and other court-required filings.

• Represent clients during court hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations.

• Advise clients regarding divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution matters.

• Develop effective litigation strategies tailored to each client's objectives.

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda supporting litigation matters.

• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments and legal strategy.

• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

• Manage multiple active family law matters while meeting court deadlines and maintaining exceptional client service.

• Stay current with developments in New Jersey family law and domestic relations practice.

Requirements

• 2–8 years of family law experience.

• Strong understanding of divorce proceedings and family law litigation.

• Active admission to practice law in New Jersey.

• Experience independently managing family law matters.

• Strong litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
