A respected litigation-focused law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Irvine, California office. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex litigation matters and a desire to take on meaningful responsibility in a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of business disputes, commercial litigation matters, real estate litigation cases, employment disputes, and other sophisticated litigation engagements. Associates will gain substantial courtroom exposure while working closely with experienced litigators and clients.

This position rarely becomes available at this experience level and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution, settlement, or trial

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents

• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies for complex commercial disputes

• Represent clients during court appearances, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations

• Participate in depositions, witness preparation, and discovery management

• Assist with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings

• Engage in settlement negotiations and dispute resolution efforts

• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments and litigation strategy

• Analyze legal issues and provide practical legal advice

• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management

• Manage deadlines and litigation calendars across multiple matters

• Utilize legal technology and case management systems to support litigation objectives

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of litigation experience

• Active California State Bar membership

• Strong commercial litigation or business litigation background preferred

• Experience handling cases independently and as part of a litigation team

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities

• Strong oral advocacy and communication skills

• Experience drafting complex litigation documents

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities

• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously

• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service

• Strong organizational and time-management skills
