Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Buyer - Hybrid Position

Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN

Duration: Contract - 3 months

Weekly schedule: 40 hours. Shift: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (flexible /- 1 hour).

Job Description

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, sourcing, and supplier management and a proven ability to execute sourcing events, negotiate value, and ensure on-time fulfillment.

Responsibilities:

• Execute purchase requisitions and convert to purchase orders in accordance with policy and category strategies.
• Source suppliers, solicit bids or proposals, and run competitive events to drive value and service.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times within delegated authority and escalate as needed.
• Manage supplier onboarding, qualification, and compliance with contract and risk requirements.
• Track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve issues related to quality, quantity, and invoicing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and category managers to align sourcing activity with business needs.
• Maintain accurate data in procurement and ERP systems and produce reports on savings and KPIs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency with purchasing processes, RFx execution, and basic contract terms.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to compare bids, total cost, and lead times.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience level: 1–3 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ERP and eSourcing tools such as SAP Ariba or SAP S/4HANA.
• Familiarity with category management, vendor risk, and basic contract law.

Education:

High School Diploma/GED
