Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC lathe setup/operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, programming, and the ability to interpret blueprints. The CNC Machinist will play a critical role in ensuring quality and efficiency in our manufacturing operations. At your Deland, FL facility - you will be setting-up, doing light programming and operator training on a Mazak MSY350 twin spindle live tooling machine with bar feed. In addition to two Okuma single spindle and one Citizen CNC swiss machine.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines and other machining equipment.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications.
- Program CNC machines using CAM programming software, ensuring accuracy in production.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions of machined parts.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assemble components as needed, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design modifications and improvements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proficient in CNC programming, with experience in Fanuc /Mazak systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts for process improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Experience with milling machines and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
- Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of CAM programming techniques for efficient machine operation.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
