BBC Studios is transforming its Global Licensing operations with the rollout of My Media Box (MMB), replacing legacy systems with automated solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
As the Royalty and Payment Compliance Specialist, you’ll serve as the finance SME for royalty compliance, supporting system integration and ensuring data accuracy across licensing and financial workflows. You’ll manage contract data migration, onboard and train licensees on the new platform, and oversee royalty reporting. You’ll also support finance operations by running revenue and commission reports, reconciling invoice and payment discrepancies, and working closely with the outsourced accounting team to resolve variances.

System Migration and Go Live Support
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $75,000 - $80,000k. This does not include other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offereddepends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or otherprofessional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
System Migration and Go Live Support
- Collaborate with Licensing, Legal, and Change teams to execute migration strategy.
- Validate royalty and recoupment data ahead of system migration.
- Support readiness activities including data validation and testing.
- Act as the first point of contact for licensees and agents during go-live, resolving issues with billing and the outsourced accounting team (TCS).
- Ensure third-party licensees complete assigned migration tasks.
- Run royalty, revenue, and agency commission reports from SAP and other systems.
- Reconcile royalty and financial data for accuracy.
- Collaborate with TCS to investigate and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
- Track and chase outstanding royalty statements from licensees and agents.
- Review contracts in MMB to ensure royalty terms are accurately captured.
- Liaise with Legal to interpret and apply contract terms correctly.
- Degree in Finance or Data Analytics preferred, with 2-3 years of working experience.
- Background in royalty and financial reporting, ideally within licensing or consumer products.
- Experience supporting system implementations, including training and testing.
- Strong understanding of contract compliance and rights usage.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience working with outsourced finance teams or shared service centers.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with solid stakeholder management capabilities.
