Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet handling and dog training to promote good behavior and comfort during their stay
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and grooming
- Assist with pet boarding, feeding, medication administration, and daily exercise routines
- Handle animal restraint safely during examinations, grooming, or medical procedures
- Support pet care facility sanitization efforts to ensure a hygienic environment for all animals
- Engage in outdoor work activities such as walking dogs and supervising playtime in secure outdoor spaces
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs, behaviors, and special instructions
Requirements
- Prior veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel operations demonstrates strong animal handling skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with animals
- Knowledge of animal behavior, pet grooming techniques, and animal restraint methods is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and visitors
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
