Core Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability: Support stable and efficient production systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to PM schedules and CMMS work orders.
- Support optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Contribute to reliability improvements and reduction of repeat failures.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system failures.
- Replace and align motors, pumps, belts, bearings, gearboxes, and related components.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Troubleshoot VFDs, motor controls, relays, sensors, and industrial panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and P&IDs.
- Support PLC-related troubleshooting in collaboration with controls personnel.
- Support installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment and line modifications.
- Assist with validation requirements within food manufacturing environments.
- Provide input on spare parts strategies and equipment improvement initiatives.
- Complete detailed work orders and update equipment history in the CMMS.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation to support audits and inspections.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA standards, and GMP requirements at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
- 4–7 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience; food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Experience with motors, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial control panels.
- Familiarity with PLC systems and industrial automation troubleshooting.
- Experience using CMMS systems to document maintenance work.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.
- EPA certification (if refrigeration systems are involved).
- Welding, fabrication, or millwright experience.
- Formal apprenticeship or journeyman-level training.
- Experience with predictive maintenance tools.
- Strong diagnostic mindset and ability to work independently during breakdowns.
- Ownership of equipment uptime and repair quality.
- Attention to detail in documentation and compliance.
- Collaborative approach with Production, Engineering, and QA teams.
- Consistent commitment to safety and food-safety standards.
- Ability to stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated, warm, and washdown production environments.
- Ability to work varied shifts as needed to support operations.
