Quick-Service Restaurant inside Chillbox Convenience Store

Birdbox is the food-service operation inside a Chillbox convenience store. We are looking for a hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead our team and take full ownership of the restaurant's daily operations and results.

The Birdbox Manager is responsible for people, customer service, food quality, food safety, cleanliness, inventory, labor, sales, and profitability. This is a working manager position—you will lead from the front, work alongside your team, and be accountable for the overall performance of the restaurant.

• Lead the Team: Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop employees. Set expectations, maintain accountability, and develop dependable shift leaders.
• Run Daily Operations: Ensure the restaurant opens and closes properly, operates efficiently, and consistently meets Birdbox standards for food quality, recipes, portions, service, and presentation.
• Food Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain strict food-safety, sanitation, health-department, and cleanliness standards. Ensure proper food handling, temperatures, labeling, storage, rotation, and equipment sanitation.
• Customer Experience: Deliver fast, friendly service. Ensure order accuracy and service times, train employees on customer service and upselling, and resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining the Birdbox brand image. 
• Sales & Profitability: Drive sales through great service, suggestive selling, promotions, and merchandising. Manage schedules, labor costs, food costs, overtime, and waste to meet profitability goals.
• Inventory & Loss Prevention: Order and receive products, maintain accurate inventory, monitor waste and product usage, and protect company cash, inventory, equipment, and other assets.
• Chillbox Partnership: Work closely with the Chillbox Store Manager on shared-site needs including deliveries, maintenance, cleanliness, security, and customer service while maintaining full responsibility for Birdbox operations.
• Administration: Manage schedules and time records, complete required operational and food-safety reports, maintain training and certification records, and participate in manager meetings and performance reviews.

• Previous restaurant, QSR, food-service, or retail management experience.
  • Strong leadership and people skills with the ability to train, coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, customer service, inventory, and labor management.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using POS, scheduling, inventory, and reporting systems.
• Reliable attendance and transportation.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
• ServSafe Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around hot equipment, coolers/freezers, cleaning chemicals, and food-preparation equipment.
• Willingness to perform hands-on restaurant duties when needed.

The Birdbox Manager is the owner of the operation from an accountability standpoint. When something isn't right, you are expected to identify it, fix it, communicate it, and prevent it from happening again.
