This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience building and supporting scalable applications that enhance Bayview’s trading and research capabilities. You will work closely with experienced developers, business analysts, and end users, learning to design, implement, and support modern software solutions in a collaborative environment.

Position Summary:
Bayview Asset Management is seeking a Technology Analyst - Application Development to join our technology team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience building and supporting scalable applications that enhance Bayview’s trading and research capabilities. You will work closely with experienced developers, business analysts, and end users, learning to design, implement, and support modern software solutions in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining full-stack web applications, including front-end interfaces and back-end services.
- Help design, implement, and test database queries, APIs, and data integration pipelines.
- Support front-end development using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Learn and apply cloud-based tools for application hosting, deployment, and data processing.
- Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across the stack.
- Document technical designs, configurations, and testing results.
- Collaborate with team members through code reviews, sprint planning, and problem-solving sessions.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience (academic or internship) with at least one programming language — e.g., Java, Python, or C#.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL; exposure to ORM frameworks is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile environment.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience using Git or other version control systems.
- Basic understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Interest in AI/ML concepts or automation using modern frameworks or APIs (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, LLMs).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) or microservices is a plus.
- This role will be based in our New York, NY office.
- This role will be hybrid with 3 days on-site (Tues - Thurs).
- Base compensation is expected to be $80,000 - $100,000 with the opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus compensation.
