Project Accountant
Direct Hire Full-Time Role
Location: Boulder, CO - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Accountant to join our team in Sacramento. We are in search of individuals who are passionate, diligent, and dedicated to ensuring top-notch client service, both internally and externally. The Project Accountant's primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding contract compliance, work authorizations, work authorization modifications, payments, reports, and any other related duties. This position reports to the Controller and Partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review contracts and agreements to ensure that all financial terms and conditions are effectively managed.
- Monitor project progress, track and manage costs, and investigate variances.
- Assist Project Managers with project plans, schedules, and workflows.
- Keep project files organized & accessible and create & update documentation.
- Process vendor & subcontractor invoices and employee expense reports accurately and within the assigned timeline.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Assist the Controller with payment collection.
- Maintain records regarding costs and project-related expenses.
- Communicate with subcontractors & vendors on billing requirements.
- Liaise with the client to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Assist with project closeout upon contract completion.
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
- Other related duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 5 years of experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Adobe
- Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and/or confidential information
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple project assignments while maintaining flexibility to meet deadlines
- Ability to contribute to team-oriented, multi-disciplined project delivery and problem-solving
- Excellent customer service with individuals at all levels, both internal and external
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
