Position Overview:
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance and safety of the facility. This role ensures that the building, equipment, and systems are properly maintained to provide a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The Maintenance Director will manage daily operations, coordinate repairs, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations of the facility
- Ensure building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are functioning properly
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and life codes
- Manage and maintain facility equipment and tools
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed
- Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors
- Maintain maintenance logs, records, and reports
- Support infection control and safety protocols within the facility
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1–2 years of maintenance experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting required
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Experience in a healthcare or post-acute setting
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards (OSHA, Life Safety Code)
