Job Title:
Fire Sprinkler System Designer/Project Manager
Job Summary:
Design fire protection sprinkler systems using the latest versions of 3D/BIM design software for a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-4 years of fire sprinkler design experience
- Hydracad software experience
- Working knowledge of NFPA codes
- Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
- High school diploma or equivalent. Preferably a graduate of a Tech/Trade School, Community College, or University
- NICET certification desired although not required
- Proficiency in MS Office and associated programs
- Self-motivated individual with good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record
- Candidates must successfully pass a drug test and a complete employment background check
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and layout of fire protection sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes using NFPA standards and industry practices
- Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications and contracts.
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features.
- Perform field check of completed design to verify accuracy.
- Work closely with the team to understand the contract with the customer, the scheduling of the design process, and the delivery needs of the installation crew.
- Coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to meet the optimum installation start date.
- Follow all job site safety and protocol when performing field checks and attending on site meetings.
- Coordination with architects other building trades
- Material and Equipment Submittals
- Hydraulic Calculations
- Seismic Calculations
- Perform other related duties as required
