Position Details
- Position: Cook
- Location: Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center – Duluth, MN
- Department: Dietary
- Schedule: Full-time, part-time, and/or flexible scheduling available
- Shift: Various shifts may be available, including weekends and holidays
- Starting Wage: $19, wage based on experience
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
- Prepare food in appropriate quantities while maintaining quality and presentation.
- Follow residents' prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary needs.
- Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with meal service and ensure meals are served accurately and on time.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
- Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to the Dietary Manager.
- Keep kitchen, equipment, work areas, and food preparation areas clean and sanitary.
- Follow infection control and workplace safety procedures.
- Work cooperatively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
- Provide friendly and respectful service to residents and respond appropriately to their needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous cooking experience preferred, especially in a healthcare, senior living, restaurant, or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work with residents and coworkers.
- Ability to remain organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, carry, and move kitchen supplies as required.
