JOB SUMMARY
The Arborist/Sales Associate is responsible for selling, estimating, and managing arboricultural services for residential and commercial clients. This role focuses on building strong relationships with new and existing customers while identifying opportunities to enhance property value through professional tree care services.
Responsibilities include evaluating trees and plants, diagnosing health issues and structural defects, developing solution-based recommendations, and preparing accurate estimates and proposals for services such as tree pruning, removals, plant health care, and related arboricultural work. Plant identification and knowledge of industry best practices are essential. Success in this position is driven by strong sales performance, customer service, and technical expertise.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional customer service.
- Conduct property evaluations and provide professional recommendations for tree care, plant health, and landscape improvement opportunities.
- Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and service recommendations for residential and commercial clients.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to increase revenue through additional services and enhancements.
- Ensure recommended work is completed successfully and meets customer expectations.
- Diagnose plant health issues, tree defects, and potential hazards, and develop corrective action plans.
- Apply knowledge of tree care, hazard tree assessment, integrated pest management (IPM), and industry-approved arboricultural practices.
- Generate solution-based quotes for small landscape enhancements and irrigation repairs.
- Contribute to branch sales goals through proactive business development and client retention efforts.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to generate referrals, identify new business opportunities, and prepare professional proposals.
- Proven ability to estimate projects, present proposals, follow up with clients, and close sales.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
- Knowledge of tree care, plant identification, and arboricultural practices.
- ISA Certified Arborist credential preferred but not required.
