Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional assistance throughout their visit
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and drawer management
- Assist customers with product inquiries, demonstrations, and upselling to enhance their shopping experience
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean, well-merchandised, and inviting for shoppers
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing information over the phone
- Support product demos to educate guests about features and benefits of various items
- Supervise or assist with retail sales activities, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail sales transactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in person and over the phone
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse guest needs more inclusively
- Demonstrated supervising or leadership experience in retail or grocery store settings
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and retail store product knowledge
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math tasks accurately
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or similar environments is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude and professional phone etiquette
