Baymont Inn & Suites is currently seeking a Front Desk Clerk.

Typical shift starts at either 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm.
Location: Baymont Inn & Suites Newark DE – 82-room limited-service hotel, Newark, Delaware
Employment Type: Full time / Part-time (Flexible schedule; evenings, weekends, and holidays required)
Compensation: Hourly wage (commensurate with experience)
About Us
At the Baymont Inn & Suites in Newark, Delaware, we’re proud to offer clean, comfortable accommodations and friendly, efficient service to business travellers, families, and guests passing through the region. As a smaller, limited-service property with 82 rooms, each guest encounter matters. We’re looking for a Front Desk Agent who will be an excellent first impression — warm, professional and service-oriented.
Position Summary
As a Front Desk Agent you will be the primary point of contact for our guests at check-in, during their stay and at check-out. You will handle reservations, guest requests, billing, departures and any guest concerns, collaborating with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guest satisfaction. Your role will directly support the guest experience and the smooth operation of our front office. (See sample references for duties of front desk agents / clerks.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet arriving guests in a warm, professional manner.
- Conduct guest check-in and check-out according to hotel standard operating procedures; assign rooms and issue room keys.
- Process guest payments, verify credit card or payment method, issue folios, handle cash transactions and balance the cash drawer at shift end.
- Handle and manage phone reservations and walk-in bookings; update the property management system (PMS) with accurate guest information.
- Provide guests with information about the hotel’s amenities (limited-service property) and about local area attractions, restaurants and directions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns or complaints; escalate to management when appropriate.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to ensure rooms are ready, clean and any guest issues (e.g., maintenance requests) are addressed in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the front desk area and lobby.
- Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as required by hotel occupancy.
- Uphold brand standards (under the umbrella of Baymont by Wyndham) and property policies, including security, confidentiality and safety of guests and their information.
Qualifications & Skills

- Strong organizational skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment (busy check-in / check-out periods).
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn the hotel’s reservation and front-office software. really

- A positive, service-oriented attitude and ability to represent the hotel’s brand in every guest interaction.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally assist with light luggage or guest requests.
