General Summary:
The Clinical Educator role will serve as an Educator to Bayhealth Medical Group practice staff. This person will perform education and training in varying degrees and will include facilitation of educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. This position must work in unison with Bayhealth’s Education, Infection Prevention and Risk Management Departments.

This position must work in unison with Bayhealth’s Education, Infection Prevention and Risk Management Departments.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, delivers and evaluates educational activities to meet indentified learning needs of the BHMG practice staff using the following: a. Adult education principles b. Research based practices c. Clinical skills needed to safely perform new procedures and use of new equipment.
- Collaborates with BHMG Administrative staff along with Infection Prevention, Risk Management and Education departments to: a. Assess the individual practice learning needs b. Evaluate the individual practice learning needs c. Prioritize the individual practice learning needs
- Plans, prepares and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience including: a. Identifies and evaluates instructional materials in all types of media and formats b. Adjusts content and teaching strategies to appropriate learner needs c. Develops evidence-based educational materials
- Teaches content as needed and/or assigned within clinical expertise to facilitate orientation, staff development and/or safe practice.
- Supports staff development with educational activities (which include remediation, certification, mentoring, life support, Joint Commission, CMS, and CDC requirements, product roll-outs, etc.)
- Develops competence based programs for practice staff with a focus upon improvement of skills and retention of knowledge.
- Serves as educational consultant to task forces, committees and projects relating to policy, procedures and program development. Works in collaboration with Director of Education, Infection Prevention and Director of Accreditation to recommend educational strategies for clinical standards.

- Education: Bachelor Degree Nursing Or a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Credential(s): Registered Nurse; Basic Life Support
- Experience: Required: 3 years of applied clinical experience as an RN in a health related field Preferred: 5 years of applied clinical experience with 1 year of teaching experience.

- Credential(s): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support; Pediatric Advanced Life Support
