SALARY RANGE: 29.05 - 45.03HOURLY
General Summary:
Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, diagnostic and interventional peripheral procedures. Assists the physician in placing catheters into the coronary arteries, and peripheral arteries and veins so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the vascular structure and function of the coronary and peripheral vessels.
Responsibilities:
1. The Technologist will assist in preparing the patient for the procedure as well as assist in the set up and preparation of rooms, prior to beginning procedures, to provide safe, efficient delivery of care. The Technologist will ensure that proper documentation/consent is present in the chart prior to the procedure’s start time. 2. The Technologist will demonstrate the ability to obtain hemostasis safely after a procedure. 3. The Technologist will demonstrate the ability to accurately monitor and document all procedures performed in the Cath Lab in the MacLab system. 4. The Technologist will assist the Cath Lab team with procedure room turnover after every procedure following Infection Control protocol. 5. The Technologist will enhance professional growth and development through participation in education, workshops, in-services, and current literature. They will maintain required certifications and complete yearly unit and hospital mandatories prior to performance evaluation. RCIS is required within two years. 6. Administers Intra Coronary Medication per Bayhealth and Unit’s policies. 7. All other duties assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Certificate Program High School Diploma or GED ; Paramedic ;
- Credential(s): Paramedic Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist within 2 years Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Basic Life Support ; Must be a nationally registered Paramedic.
