SALARY RANGE: 73,444.80 - 113,838.40YEARLY
General Summary:
Manage bariatric/surgical and medical weight loss product line. Responsibility for the management of staff, maintaining supplies/equipment and maintaining employee files, competencies, schedules and staffing. Develop/maintain department standards, pathways to meet federal and regulatory requirements. Monitor program and department budgets and ensure accurate billing of charges. Coordinate entire patient interaction verification of bariatric insurance coverage and benefits pre-op evaluation, patient education, post-op follow up, support group, etc. Collaborate with physicians to develop physician orders and protocols; implement data collection and reporting necessary to ensure program success. Collaborate with other departments; develop exercise program and nutritional protocols to meet needs of bariatric patient. Coordinate marketing activities including the development of marketing materials and patient educations seminars.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate entire patient interaction with bariatric and Medical Weight Loss progams program. Perform pre-op evaluation, and post-op evaluation on 100% of cases. Engage>95% of patients in support group/seminars.
2. Develop exercise program and nutritional programs specifically related to needs of bariatric and medical weight loss patient. Achieve 95% compliance by all patients in exercise and nutritional program as outlined in established protocols.
3. Develop medical weight loss program workflows and processes.
4. Develop marketing campaigns, education materials and seminars to promote programs. Develop monthly marketing campaign to promote educational seminars.
5. Supervision of staff. Set clear expectations as outlined in the performance evaluation/job description, provide ongoing performance feedback and open communications on a quarterly basis. Ensure retention rate of> 86%.
6. Develop and maintain department standards, pathways and procedures. Ensure compliance with all Joint Commission, State and Federal regulations as required.
7. Monitor program and department budgets. Meet budgeted utilization, revenue and expenditures and develop action plan to meet budget within 5% of projections.
8. Maintain professional working relationship with physicians. Develop physician orders and protocols for the program. Integrate new protocols as required.
9. Clear Expectations: Ensures clear and complete expectations are set annually and updated as needed for all direct and non-direct reports in order to achieve the Bayhealth, division and department missions and objectives. Ensures that identified expectations are communicated in a manner that ensures clear and complete understanding.
10. Communications: Ensures employees are communicated with in a timely manner so that they are aware of talking points, organizational plans, decisions, mission and purpose, policies and procedures, and expectations of them in a way that they can communicate to others accurately the rationale, the content, and that they buy-in to management directions and philosophies.
11. Mandatory Education: Ensures that staff in all areas of responsibility successfully completed all job specific mandatory education and organization-wide mandatory employee/leadership education. Ensures that training/leadership principles and concepts are applied on the job upon completion of training.
12. Policy Enforcement: Ensures for all areas of responsibility that employees are aware of Bayhealth policies and procedures and that corrective action is taken to achieve fair, timely and consistent enforcement.
13. Financial: Ensures that all areas of responsibility generate favorable financial results by achieving and/or surpassing department’s/unit’s operating budget. Develops appropriate capital and operating budgets and submits budgets on-time. Monitors operating budget and submits written reports as needed.
14. Ensures that all areas of responsibility meet or exceed their productivity standards for the fiscal year. Ensures that at least one net income improvement suggestion is identified and implemented during the fiscal year.
15. Planning: Demonstrates insight and thoroughness in anticipating needs and developing clear, sound, realistic strategic and operational plans, capital and operating budgets. Takes the initiative in designing and setting courses of action that are time and event driven and result in successful, timely and resource efficient implementations.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor Degree Related field
- Credential(s): Registered Nurse; Or Registered Dietitian.
- Experience: Required: Three years relevant clinical experience as an RN or Registered Dietitian. One year of experience leading a similar program
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Master DegreeRelated field
- Credential(s):
- Experience: Preferred: Prior bariatric program coordinator.
