Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to strengthen our client’s reporting and requirements gathering processes. This role will play a key part in improving how business needs are captured, structured, and translated into clear, actionable documentation for technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and desired outcomes.
• Translate vague or high-level business requests into clear, detailed documentation and structured use cases.
• Decompose existing reports to uncover underlying business logic and identify opportunities for improvement or simplification.
• Apply critical thinking to go beyond replicating existing reports — focusing on the “why” behind business requests to propose better solutions.
• Develop and maintain standardized documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and validation criteria.
• Facilitate clear communication and alignment between business and technical teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Support the formalization of processes that improve the quality and consistency of requirements collection and validation before technical build phases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies in existing documentation and reporting processes.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a data, reporting, or technology-focused environment. Ability to decompose existing reports and work with the business to understand underlying business goals and work with technology to propose better solutions.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• The ability to structure uses cases is critical for this role.
• Banking or financial services industry experience is required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to connect disparate pieces of information to form a cohesive understanding.
• Experience developing structured use cases and business requirements documentation.
• Comfortable facilitating discussions and asking clarifying questions to ensure mutual understanding.
• Familiarity with report design, data analysis, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
