What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Pharmacy Technician position at Bay Street Pharmacy?
Bay Street Pharmacy has an immediate opening for an experienced and personable Registered Pharmacy Technician to be part of our team of dedicated employees at Bay Street Pharmacy. We have been in the community for over 40 years and this position requires no nights (after 6PM) and only 4 hours on some weekends each month. We desire a great personality, professional appearance and preferably at least 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician.
Essential duties:
· Maintains and directs the workflow of the pharmacy processing prescriptions via the pharmacy management system always maintaining confidentiality of federal HIPAA requirements.
· Answer phones and communicate with patients, caregivers and prescribers in person, by phone, fax or text
· Contact third party prescription companies to work prescription denials and/or prior authorizations.
· Count out and label processed prescriptions and place them in baskets for pharmacist’s final check.
· Notify the pharmacist of therapy changes, drug interactions, or allergies before prescriptions are filled.
· Assist with placing and receiving orders daily for medications (pharmacy inventory).
· Compound medications with supervision of the pharmacist.
· Make recommendations to the pharmacist and CEO about changes that will improve pharmacy workflow or assist with the pharmacy continuous quality improvement (CQI) program.
· Participate as a member of the quarterly CQI committee.
· Keep hard copy prescriptions filed in numeric order and track missing hard copy prescriptions.
· Remove outdated medications from pharmacy stock in a weekly rotation schedule as stated in our compliance policies and procedures.
· Assists with cleaning and dusting of pharmacy and compounding area.
· Works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.
· Performs all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
