Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements
- Maintain and update employee payroll records within HRIS platforms and accounting software like QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian
- Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of spreadsheets, general ledger accounts, and time & attendance systems such as Kronos or Time & Attendance systems
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll tax obligations by staying current on relevant legislation
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality while managing payroll processing, tax filings, and employee data entry
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve discrepancies related to payroll, benefits, or tax issues
- Prepare reports on payroll costs, labor law compliance metrics, and financial analysis for management review
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll management with a strong understanding of payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or Kronos
- Solid knowledge of employment & labor law, payroll tax regulations, and governmental accounting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks or similar financial tools; experience with general ledger reconciliation is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and perform account reconciliation accurately
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms like UltiPro or PeopleSoft; experience with time & attendance systems is a plus
- Excellent data entry skills including 10 key typing; knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and journal entries is advantageous
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
