REPORTS TO: Evening School Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you organized, friendly, and great at keeping things running smoothly? Our Evening School Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Evening School Director and ensuring that our adult continuing education program operates seamlessly each night.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys helping others, solving problems on the fly, and being part of a vibrant community of adult learners. You’ll be the go-to person for students and instructors, making sure every evening runs smoothly, from class setup to registration support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supports the Evening School Director with the day-to-day operations of evening programs.
Provides outstanding customer service to students, instructors, and visitors in person, by phone, and by email.
Manages student registrations using the school’s registration system.
Creates flyers, ads, and other promotional materials using Canva.
Assists with promoting courses and programs through social media and community outreach.
Performs general clerical tasks including photocopying, scanning, and filing (both digital and paper).
Greets and assists instructors and students, offering help with computers, audiovisual equipment, and supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Evening School Director or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with Social Media Platforms and Postings.
Ability to think on your feet, anticipate needs, solve problems, and keep the night running smoothly.
Friendly, professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
A self-starter who can stay calm, flexible, and solutions-oriented under pressure.
Strong communication skills and a pleasant phone manner.
Ability to learn new software, including the school’s registration system & Canva
A genuine interest in supporting adult community education.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma required.
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Part-time position.
There are no benefits associated with this position.
14 hours per week.
COMPENSATION:
$26.78 per hour
