Essential Functions
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment
- Connect cables and wire between machine and equipment
- Diagnose malfunctioning electrical apparatus
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices
- May diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
- May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus to buildings
- Use a variety of tools or equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps
- Knowledge of arithmetic
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 3 years’ experience as an electrician
- NCCER or Journeyman’s electrical license
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information
- Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented
- Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines
- Ability to work non-routine hours, when necessary
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
- Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Ability to operate job related tools
- Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers
