Job Summary: To direct and supervise all First Shift plant operations to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and financial goals. Responsible for production, quality controls and all other production-related activities.
Essential Functions
Production
- Oversee all aspects of plant operation for production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
- Coordinate plant activities through the Production Superintendent to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Establish and monitor plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Assists with maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Ensure materials are staged for the next shift.
- Supervises all plant personnel.
- Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Works directly with the Production Superintendent regarding all employee issues, including temporary employees.
- Assists the Production Superintendent with the hiring of plant personnel through interviews.
- First shift Supervisor responsible for administrative activities (timecard approval etc.)
- Ensures all company safety guidelines/protocols are followed correctly as it relates to work and machine safety, housekeeping, machine maintenance, etc.

Qualifications

Knowledge And Skill Required
- Experience in a production or distribution environment.
- Experience in machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Works well with management, peers, and employees.
- Five to seven years previous supervisory experience required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
