Milieu Coordinator

Who We Are Looking For: Are you the Milieu Coordinator we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by working with our youth! Bay Cove Academy is a small, therapeutic day school serving adolescents, ages 12-21, who have a wide range of serious emotional, and or learning difficulties. Our staff provide a highly structured, learning environment for teens whose educational and social needs exceed those which traditional public and private schools can accommodate. We provide education, career development, and clinical service.     Compensation The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications.  This range may be modified in the future.  What You'll Do: Provide leadership in the milieu to all school staff through example and modeling as well as through supervision. Communicate daily to ensure that all staff are aware of each student’s status. Provide strength-based leadership and direction to staff each shift, monitoring school activities, recreation, clubs, and special assignments Provide direction and information when initiating behavior management interventions, and follow through with the entire intervention until completion. Orient new staff to the milieu; give feedback and on the job training. Provide therapeutic interventions to assist students in attaining the goals and objectives on their Individualized Education Programs. Provide strength-based and trauma-informed supervision, training, and assistance to staff on milieu duty and in the classroom, in completing assessments and interventions with students. Provide on-call counseling services throughout the school day for all students in crisis. Coordinate all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the milieu. Create weekly schedules containing coverage and meetings. Coordinate and oversee all paperwork related to the milieu. Performs other duties as assigned. Why JRI?   Be who you are! Requirements: Must be 21 years or older. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master’s degree in counseling or related field. At least two years relevant experience with adolescents and at least 1-2 years counseling experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.  Capable of making sound decisions in a dynamic environment; should possess leadership qualities. Excellent communication skills are necessary. Ability to establish rapport with students while upholding professional boundaries. Must have a valid driver’s license.
