Event Producer

Chelsea, New York City | 4 days/week in office

Some jobs are about making things look good.

This one is about making things actually work.

Our client brings together six of the most beloved special-interest events in the country. Major trade shows in fantastic locations. Influencer and media events where hundreds of creators meet the brands they’re going to talk about for months.

Every one of those experiences has a person behind it making a thousand decisions so no one in the room has to think about logistics. That person is this role.

What you’re here to do

You’ll own events end-to-end — from the first planning doc to the last vendor invoice. That means you’re in the room when things go sideways, and you’re the reason they don’t. Across multiple brands and event formats, your job is to make the experience feel effortless for everyone who shows up.

Day-to-day, here’s what fills your time:

  • Manage pre-production logistics, onsite execution, and post-event wrap-up across multiple simultaneous events
  • Build and maintain project plans — timelines, deliverables, vendors, venues, sponsors, exhibitors — and actually keep them current
  • Lead creative ideation on experiential activations and figure out how to make them land with the audience
  • Drive all event communications, internal and external, from kickoff through closeout
  • Manage third-party partners — agencies, production teams, client teams — and hold them accountable to timelines
  • Oversee event staff through load-in, setup, and breakdown
  • Track and report on event metrics and bring honest analysis of what worked, what didn’t, and what to do differently next year
  • Manage the event supply catalog so nothing’s ever missing at 6am on show day
  • Be the public-facing representative of the brand in the room — that means you set the tone

You’ll also provide budget and vendor oversight support for other portfolio companies within the holding company. The scope is real and the variety is part of what makes the role interesting.

What we’re looking for

You’ve produced events before — at least three years of it. You know what a venue contract should say, what questions to ask a vendor before you sign anything, and what “we’ll figure it out onsite” actually costs.

You’re the kind of person who builds the timeline before anyone asks for it. Who notices the thing no one else caught. Who can manage five competing deadlines without losing track of any of them.

More specifically:

  • 3 years of event production experience
  • Strong budget management skills — you know where the money is going and why
  • Comfortable with client-facing communication at every stage of the process
  • Working knowledge of PR and social media and how events feed both
  • Fluent in Google Suite; functional in Photoshop and InDesign
  • Experience with EventBrite, AllSeated, or similar event management tools
  • WordPress or CMS experience is a plus

You don’t need to have worked at any specific industry tradeshows. You need to understand how to produce an experience that makes people feel something — and how to do it on time and on budget.

The practical stuff

This is a full-time, in-office role in Chelsea, NYC. You’ll be in the office daily and on-site for all required events — including local press events, trade shows, and a handful of destinations that are genuinely great places to be.

Travel across the U.S. is part of the job. But it is only six events. Each one lasts three days but you will arrive a day early to make sure everything is good. If that’s not something you’re set up for, this probably isn’t the right fit.

One more thing

Our client is building something — a holding company that’s growing through acquisition and looking for people who want to be part of building it. This is a real opportunity to have a real impact at a company that takes events seriously.

We’re committed to building a team that reflects the full range of people who show up to our events. All backgrounds, identities, and experiences are welcome here.

If this sounds like the work you want to be doing — we’d like to hear from you.
