Job Overview
We are seeking a Diesel and Gasoline Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet of diesel powered vehicles and equipment. In this role, you will have hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, ensuring that all vehicles are in optimal working condition. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire checks, and fluid replacements.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to ensure proper operation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including repairs and inspections.
- Assist with emergency breakdowns and mobile repairs when necessary.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to complete tasks in a timely and eAicient manner.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized and clean.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to maintenance and repair practices.
- Run parts errands and retrieve necessary components from vendors or suppliers.
- Assist with general cleaning and upkeep during downtime, ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.
- Perform general oAice or building tasks as needed, such as organizing supplies or assisting with inventory management.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of diesel engines, powertrains, electrical systems, hydraulics, and air brake systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Must provide own hand tools (specialty tools provided).
- High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certification or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including outdoor work.
- Stamina to work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.
