Registered Nurse - MedSurg

Position Summary:
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions. The Med Surg RN plays a vital role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established nursing standards, physician orders, and hospital policies.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and report findings promptly.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic data; interpret findings to guide clinical decisions.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound management, pain control, and patient education.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Document nursing care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times.
• Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions within RN scope of practice.
• Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (or compact state).
• BLS & ACLS certification .
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent experience in a Med Surg or acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Epic or Cerner preferred).

Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract

Pay: $3,300.00 - $3,366.00 per hour

Expected hours: 48 per week

License/Certification:

• ACLS Certification (Required)
