Job description:
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Equipment Shop Assistant (preferably with a CDL) to join our team! You will be responsible for assisting the equipment manager and operating various vehicles to transport equipment across multiple locations.
Duties:
- Load, unload, and organize equipment using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques
- Safely operate commercial vehicles for delivery of equipment to job sites
- Assist with shop duties and routine maintenance of equipment and tools
- Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance
- Salary based on experience
- Minimum 40 hours a week, with additional time when travel is required
Requirements:
- Valid Class A - CDL driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial vehicles required
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely
- Familiarity with forklift operation, pallet jacks, manual transmission vehicles, and basic vehicle maintenance is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members
