Job Overview
The Events and Entertainment Manager is a natural-born people person and an incredible communicator. You throw parties people can’t stop talking about. You find interesting people, picture-perfect places and create clever details with ease. You’re happiest with a run-of-show clipboard, juggling both the big picture and the most granular details. You ensure events are successful, paying attention to budget and time constraints. The Event and Entertainment Manager implements events that take place for Baxter Brewing, The Pub, and Baxter Outdoors. This includes developing budgets, working with and building relationships with contractors, and managing all onsite needs during events. This position also manages all live entertainment and vendors as necessary.
What you’ll be doing:
- Create and execute concepts for marketing and PR events in the field and at the brewery, which includes a wide variety of charitable and experiential events/festivals, from pre-planning to day-of execution.
- Partner with Brand Managers on developing compelling event concepts, marketing strategies, creative materials, props and promotional items.
- Collaborate with the Brand Manager and Pub team on developing marketing events at the brewery to increase visits, sales and customer engagement.
- Plan events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience, and objectives, ensuring that events are in line with marketing campaign themes and brand voice.
- Be the first point of contact for all event-related correspondence and ensure previously planned items are executed and events remain on budget.
- Report on budget forecast and actual spend.
- Own and manage the Tour route from the Pub to the brewery, actively seeking engagement from both teams and improving on the customer experience.
- Assist with Pub team during Pub events, including but not limited to, hosting, bussing, customer engagement, etc.
- Help drive event marketing through social media, visual brand experience, POS, and co-marketing efforts through Baxter’s and partners’ channels.
- Build localized relationships with relevant communities and local media.
- Be a Baxter champion and act as a media spokesperson as needed, with a firm grasp of the brewery’s vision, brand, history, community involvement and beer portfolio.
- Respond to inbound requests from artists/their management and work directly with agents/managers to coordinate talent offers and booking.
- Work directly with talent/bands, agents, managers and to coordinate onsite production and hospitality.
- Confirm entertainment and events calendar and work with other team members to ensure ticketing, announcements, on sale dates, and marketing are coordinated.
- Coordinate and oversee teams prior to and throughout events.
- Manage all subcontractors including staging, sound, and other talent/entertainment needs for events.
- Other duties as assigned.
What your background looks like:
- One to three years of previous professional experience in special event planning and management is preferred.
- Advanced public speaking and communication skills with an understanding of marketing and promotion techniques.
- Versatile communicator, able to relay the big picture along with tactics and accountabilities to individuals and groups.
- Previous experience in booking a wide variety of vendors inclusive of production and on-brand creative vendors, such as bands, artists, crafters, etc.
- Social Media experience with a focus on content creation for event/media promotion is a plus.
- Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management.
- Maintains a functioning vehicle and has a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Some working weekends will be required in the case of some events.
- Ability to take initiative, employ good judgment, and manage projects from beginning to end.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Exceptional ability to manage details and to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and to anticipate next steps or needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Public Relations is preferred; significant professional experience in the field may be considered.
- A love of craft beer and an understanding of brewing and beer styles is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, as situations demand.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while remaining calm and level-headed with minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
