Position Overview:
The Mobile Pizza Oven Chef is responsible for serving high-quality pizzas using a mobile wood-fired pizza oven at catering functions and off-premise locations. This role ensures that every guest receives an authentic, consistent, and memorable culinary experience while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a mobile pizza oven safely and efficiently, including setup, temperature control, and breakdown.
- Pick up the dough, sauces, toppings, and other pizza components for Bavaro’s Tampa or Central Kitchen.
- Cook pizzas to perfection with proper timing, texture, and quality, maintaining consistency throughout service.
- Manage cooking pace during events to meet guest demand without compromising quality.
- Execute proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and health code compliance while working in a mobile environment.
- Load and unload equipment, ingredients, and supplies at event locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mobile pizza oven throughout service.
- Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner and represent the brand with hospitality.
- Communicate with catering managers or catering staff to ensure smooth event execution.
- Assist with prep work at the main kitchen when not on mobile events (optional).
Requirements:
- Vehicle that can tow 3,500 pounds.
- Experience working with wood-fired or high-temperature pizza ovens preferred.
- Strong understanding of dough handling, stretching, and pizza cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to different event locations.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and handling physical tasks such as loading equipment.
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently or with a small team.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in catering, events, or mobile food operations.
- Knowledge of Neapolitan-style pizza or specialty pizza techniques.
- Strong customer service and guest interaction abilities.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
