HVAC Installers on new construction projects at Bauer are responsible for installing heating and cooling systems in newly built homes according to plans, codes, and manufacturer specifications. They run and connect ductwork and refrigerant lines, set and start up equipment, and coordinate with builders and other trades on site. The work is primarily focused on completing high‑quality, code‑compliant installations on schedule for new residential construction.
Responsibilities
- Install residential HVAC equipment and accessories according to manufacturer specifications, mechanical codes, and company procedures.
- Install refrigerant lines, including brazing and soldering, and verify proper charging and system performance.
- Install flex and sheet metal duct systems in homes and light commercial spaces as required by job scope.
- Review job plans, pre‑measure work areas, and determine required materials and tools before each installation.
- Load, transport, and unload materials and equipment; verify accuracy of orders and job-site deliveries.
- Complete required job documentation, forms, and installation checklists accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep the assigned company vehicle clean and stocked.
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors, providing basic system operation information when requested.
- Follow all safety policies and report any hazards, incidents, or equipment issues to management.
- Perform other installation-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior HVAC installation experience in residential settings preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, job plans, and basic wiring diagrams.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and commitment to good customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, follow written and verbal directions, and manage time on multiple jobs.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to safely lift up to 100 pounds and handle heavy equipment with proper technique or assistance.
- Ability to work in hot or cold environments, including attic and crawlspace conditions, for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and to stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, and kneel as needed to perform installation work.
