Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and design specifications
- Conduct system diagnostics using electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on HVAC/R equipment to ensure peak performance
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and HVAC design plans to accurately assemble and install complex mechanical systems
- Repair plumbing, electrical components, and refrigeration systems while adhering to safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants
- Utilize welding techniques and mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and installation tasks
- Conduct property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC installation or related mechanical systems
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R or property maintenance roles demonstrating hands-on repair skills
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration
- Mechanical knowledge of building automation systems and mechanical systems repair processes
- Experience operating field service equipment such as welders or maintenance tools like ohmmeters
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (including
driver if applicable) - Certifications such as EPA certification for refrigerants are required; additional certifications in boiler operation or appliance repair are advantageous
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations related to HVAC/R work
