A Baton Rouge ASC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be focused on creating a positive culture, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the well-being of our staff to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care.
- Recruitment and Staffing: Overseeing the entire hiring process, from creating job descriptions and screening candidates to onboarding new employees. This includes specialized recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles in a competitive market.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring the hospital adheres to a myriad of federal and state laws and regulations, such as HIPAA, OSHA, FMLA, LDH and specific professional licensing/certification requirements for medical staff.
- Employee Relations: Serving as a liaison between management and employees, mediating disputes, addressing grievances, directing disciplinary procedures, and fostering a positive and safe workplace culture. Create and manage employee retainment and recognition programs.
- Credentialing: Perform credentialing functions related to medical staff, vendors, and any other necessary required by regulations.
- Compensation and Benefits: Planning and administering employee benefit programs (health, retirement, leave), managing wage structures, and collaborating with accounting on payroll processes. Manage weekly payroll and labor data reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Performance & Attendance Management
- Training and Development: Coordinating training programs, including mandatory safety and compliance training, to ensure staff have the necessary skills and professional development opportunities. Provide orientation for new staff. Identify training needs and coordinate development programs. Promote career growth and professional development opportunities.
- Performance Management: Implementing performance appraisal systems and working with department heads to evaluate performance and provide feedback.
- Other Duties & Tasks: Assist upper management in various areas to ensure the organization runs smoothly.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
Experience:
- 3–10 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on labor and employee relations in both unionized and non-unionized settings.
- Experience in an ASC, hospital, or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with LDH rules and regulations
- Solid understanding of the National Labor Relations Act and related employment laws.
- Proven ability to influence, engage, and drive change across diverse teams and organizational levels.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
