Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and professional front desk environment.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with accuracy and efficiency.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and obtain prior authorizations as needed using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Collect and review patient documentation, including medical histories, consent forms, and insurance information to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Schedule appointments using open dental coordinating care plans and follow-up visits seamlessly.
- Process medical billing and collections through insurance claims submission, follow-up on unpaid claims, and resolve billing discrepancies with attention to CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and HIPAA compliance.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or dental clinic is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology is a plus.
