What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator (Commercial Plumbing) position at Bates Mechanical?
We are currently seeking an Estimator with at least 5 years of experience and familiarity with Trimble software. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed project estimates for construction project
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials require
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop cost-effective solution
- Conduct site visits and gather necessary information to accurately estimate project costs
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to determine project budget
- Create and submit timely and competitive bids for construction project
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and supplier
- Provide support and guidance to project teams regarding cost control measure
Experience:
- At least five (5) yrs. experience preferred in Plumbing and/or HV
- Proven experience in construction estimating or project management specific to HVAC and Plumbing
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Knowledge of estimating software, strong computer skills including Microsoft 365 applications
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
