- 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Are you a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) passionate about supporting seniors with quality care and safe medication practices?
At Wellsential Health, we’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented CMA to join our skilled nursing team. In this essential role, you’ll ensure residents receive the right medications and compassionate support, while also helping with daily care needs that maintain their dignity and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications per state regulations and facility protocols
- Take and record vital signs prior to medication administration, as needed
- Observe and report any side effects or unusual reactions to the charge nurse
- Document all medications in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
- Follow proper procedures for oxygen administration during emergencies and notify nursing staff accordingly
- Apply ophthalmic, OTIC, nasal, and vaginal medications as ordered
- Assist with daily living activities including bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility support
- Support the charge nurse in keeping the medication room, nursing station, and supply areas clean and organized
- Follow all infection control, universal precautions, and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Active CMA certification in the state of Texas
- Successfully completed a State-Approved Medication Aide Training & Competency Program
- In good standing on the state registry
- One (1) year of healthcare experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Universal Precautions and Bloodborne Pathogen standards
