POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs duties of a maintenance mechanic in addition to various other duties such as dispatching work requests, ensuring satisfactory performance, maintaining accountability of tools and parts, and prioritizing and dispatching calls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for scheduling and performing electrical maintenance consisting of repairing, troubleshooting or replacing switches, lighting controls, lighting fixtures, motors, motor starters, Programmable Logics Controls, variable frequency drives and safety equipment.
- Responsible for scheduling and performing plumbing deficiencies consisting of repairing or replacing broken pipes, pumps, valves and seals, flush valves, clearing clogging lines, and safety equipment.
- Responsible for scheduling and performing repairs on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and air compressors systems to include diagnosing faulty equipment and performing routine and safety inspections.
- Responsible for scheduling and performing material handling equipment repairs consisting of conveyors, lift equipment, hoists, maintenance platforms, dock levelers, and elevators.
- Responsible for installing and repairing various appliances consisting of smoke detection systems, intrusion alarm devices, security systems, kitchen appliances, shredders, compactors, and time clocks.
- Responsible for coordinating and completing finishing building trades which include painting, floor repairs, wall and door repairs, roof inspections and minor repairs, and other assigned carpentry and fabrication projects.
- Responsible for maintaining work order log and communicating work priorities to maintenance mechanics and technicians on their assigned shift. This includes dispatching response maintenance calls in the absence of or as an assistant to the Maintenance Superintendent/Manager.
- Responsible to ensure satisfactory performance of the preventative maintenance schedule and assigned projects.
- Maintains accountability of parts and tools as well as approve account number invoices.
- Performs coaching to maintenance associates assigned to the shift as well as provides associate performance evaluation input to the Maintenance Superintendent/Manager.
- Manages contractor’s performance during their assigned shift.
- Mentors and trains less experienced staff in all aspects of the job.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Vocational-Technical Degree in related discipline required
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, electrical or equipment maintenance required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Knowledge of PLCs and servo motor
- Knowledge of electrical systems and circuits
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and follow directions required
- Excellent problem-solving skills required
