Description

The staff infusion nurse will provide direct and indirect patient care to infusion patients and their families, utilizing the nursing processes of comprehensive patient assessment, development and implementation of nursing care plans, and on-going evaluations. The staff infusion nurse will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care in accordance with the theoretical principles and scientific knowledge and within scope of the California Nurse Practice Act and applicable Bass policies.

Job Responsibilities :

Contributes positively to the department work environment, serves as Charge RN and other unit roles as eligible, participates in unit governance.
Ensure proper and safe administration and storage of medications.
Document appropriately in patient medical records.
Uphold organization policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws.
Ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
Collaborate with all organizational staff.
Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Education / Experience / Qualifications :

Graduate of an accredited Graduate of an accredited school of nursing OR Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Unrestricted RN-Registered Nurse of California.

One year of clinical experience REQUIRED.

Infusion and Oncology experience PREFERRED.

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider upon hire.

ONS Certification within 1 year of hire.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to exercise collaboration, negotiation and other interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of the pathophysiology, common treatments, medications, complications and prevention strategies for area of clinical practice.

Knowledge of QSEN Competencies : Quality and Patient Safety Education core nursing competencies.

Thorough knowledge of nursing process and / or surgical procedures.

Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to promote effective with patient / families and staff interactions.

Ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) and successfully complete competency.

Intravenous treatments, wound care and medication administration skills at competent level.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility, self-motivation.

Ability to utilize analytical skills related to collection, synthesis, analysis and reporting of data.

Basic PC skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.

Pay Range : $69.03 - 91.00 / hour

This position may regularly work, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drug(s) identified as hazardous, or potentially hazardous, by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.

Compensation will be based on experience.

Pay Scale / Ranges :

69.03 - 91.00 / hour (and the hourly equivalent for salaried employees).

Employees actual pay rate will depend on a host of factors including, without limitation, job location, specialty, skillset, education, and experience. The scale / ranges shown are representative of the pay rates for the job title reflected above, but an employee's actual pay rate will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
