Patient Care Coordinator – Premier Gastroenterology Practice (East Bay)

Our well-established gastroenterology practice in the East Bay is looking for a Patient Care Coordinator to support our team of physicians and help deliver exceptional care to our patients.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare patient charts and maintain accurate records with proper documentation
- Verify insurance and coordinate prior authorizations
- Manage high-volume calls, emails, and faxes
- Schedule procedures and coordinate with outside surgical centers
- Monitor, upload, and communicate patient results in Epic EHR
- Handle co-pay and past-due collections
- Provide occasional front desk or call center coverage
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Occasional overtime required

A collaborative team member with excellent communication and customer service skills, who has the ability to provide a warm, professional experience for patients while maintaining strong verbal, written, and phone etiquette. Someone who demonstrates exceptional multitasking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and technical skills, including the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, collaborate effectively with team members and leadership, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Minimum 2 years healthcare experience
- Experience with Epic Systems EHR; gastroenterology experience preferred
- Understanding of medical insurance processes and knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Ability to travel between Berkeley and Walnut Creek offices based on physician's schedule
Compensation & Benefits:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as needed
